Leading hi-tech trolley brand restocking following support from retailers

Motocaddy, the world’s top-selling electric golf trolley brand, is looking to drive its business in Germany forward with new stock arriving within weeks and a temporary Service Centre established to overcome problems arising from a recent major fire.

The entire infrastructure and contents of the B+M Golf Vertriebs GmbH facility in Wullener Feld, Witten - which housed Motocaddy trolleys alongside Garmin products - were destroyed earlier this month. The newly completed warehouse, workshop and offices were completely gutted, fortunately without anyone being injured.

Over the past few days, the local Motocaddy team has restored communication systems and set up a temporary headquarters, including a home workshop and warehouse, while new trolleys will continue to be supplied directly from the UK, so customers can be guaranteed delivery. These include the new M-TECH and M5 GPS models that have already proved popular with golfers looking for the latest hi-tech touchscreen technology out on the course.

“This is obviously a terrible incident, but we can reassure golfers that everything is being done to keep orders on track and we continue to take new orders as the season gets in full flow,” said Thorsten Kueck, B+M Managing Director, who is being supported by the long-standing Motocaddy representative in the country, Michael Bärwald.

“Michael and I have over 50 years’ experience in the golf industry and we have never seen anything like this before. We’d like to thank Motocaddy for its support helping us get the temporary facilities set up so quickly and for making sure new stock is shipped so we can carry on as normal, plus our trade customers for their amazing support and understanding at this difficult time,” he added.

Commenting on the situation, Motocaddy CEO John Helas said: “Our determination to grow our business in Germany has only been intensified with this unexpected setback and we’ll be investing heavily in new permanent facilities in the months ahead. On behalf of Motocaddy and our German team, I’d like to thank the emergency services for their swift response to the fire and our retail partners for showing such faith and support for our brand.”
